Following everything we’ve achieved together at Banana Moon Catterick, it feels really special to be opening our second nursery and building on that success in a new community. The heart of this nursery remains local and personal, led by a team who care deeply about the children, families and wider community. One of the things I love most about being part of the Banana Moon family is having that strong network of support behind you, while still keeping the individuality of each nursery.
I’m really proud to be leading Banana Moon Eaglescliffe alongside Jayne Garbutt and Abbie Meikle.

What makes us special at Banana Moon?
Fingerprint biometric access
Security is of paramount concern at Banana Moon. With this in mind, we will operate a fingerprint biometric access system to protect children and nursery staff. This system allows nursery personnel to register parents’ fingerprints in seconds.
Parents will then simply press their fingerprint on a sensor pad at the door to gain fast, easy access. We will operate an ‘open house’ policy where registered parents can enter the nursery at any time of the day. They can leave or collect their children without fuss, while unregistered visitors must await admission by a member of staff.
The biometric system means that members of staff can remain in constant supervision of the children.
CCTV
CCTV will be operational throughout the nursery, ensuring security and peace of mind for staff, children and parents, and deterring unwelcome visitors. The footage will be stored and erased after a set period in accordance with our privacy policy.
Dedicated sleep room
We will have a dedicated sleep room with soft lighting and natural wood cots. This calm and quiet room will provide a restful environment for babies, allowing them to enjoy a comfortable nap without being disturbed by any external noise. Each child will have their own bed linen, regularly laundered in-house.
All sleeping babies are, of course, very closely monitored to ensure their safety and well-being. The sleep room will be CCTV-monitored, with members of staff regularly check in on the babies. In addition, we endeavour to adhere to your desired and established sleep routines at all times.
Bright futures
Your child’s future is at the heart of everything we do at Banana Moon. Alongside exceptional childcare, we’re committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for every child.
As part of our ‘Little hearts, bright futures’ campaign, our nursery will be equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED) from CardiAid – providing added reassurance for families and supporting the wider community.
Through our ‘Big moments, bright futures’ initiative, we will also have a LifeVac anti-choking device on-site. This non-invasive, portable device is designed to be used in an emergency, following standard first aid procedures, offering additional protection for your little ones.
Together with a strong focus on choking prevention, safe food preparation and attentive mealtime supervision, these measures reflect our proactive approach to safeguarding every child in our care.
Fresh food prepared and served daily
Here at Banana Moon, we recognise the importance of providing a nutritious, well-balanced meal as the foundation of a fun and educational eating experience. Our recipes are created utilising fresh seasonal ingredients to create tasty and well-balanced meals.
Our wide choice of menus reflects the cultural diversity of our little diners, and, of course, we cater for all allergies and other dietary requirements.
Banana Moon Early Learning and Development Programme
The Banana Moon Early Learning and Development Programme supports a child’s unique development journey by providing high-quality playful provision and a dedicated team of Early Years Professionals.
The programme supports Banana Moon children, families and Early Years Professionals. It’s based on five principles which reflect the importance of a holistic approach to learning and development. The principles guide teaching and ensure all Early Years Professionals can support individual children on their development journey.
Open 51 weeks per year
We know that reliable childcare matters to busy families, which is why we are open 51 weeks of the year, providing consistent care and learning throughout the year.
Our extended opening schedule helps support working parents with flexible, dependable childcare during term time and school holidays, giving families peace of mind and continuity for their children.
